Urban Data Platform

Urban Data Platform

The overall goal of this project is to design, develop, and implement a comprehensive and dynamic urban and tourist data observatory, serving as a key tool for the monitoring, analysis, and dissemination of the municipality's information.

This platform aims to be the foundation upon which a data-driven city and tourism sector development strategy is built, with the objective of enhancing competitiveness, improving resource management, and contributing to sustainable tourism development that respects the unique natural and cultural environment of the municipality.

To achieve this, the observatory will facilitate access to up-to-date and reliable data on various key aspects of the city and tourism, including tourist supply and demand, market trends, mobility, and the municipality's online reputation as a tourist destination.

These data will allow different city stakeholders, including local tourism agents—from public administration to private tour operators—to make informed decisions, develop effective public policies, and create innovative marketing strategies and tourism products that meet the needs and expectations of visitors, and improve the quality of life for its inhabitants.

Urban Data Platform is an innovative, Dynamic, and Accessible Web Platform, designed to revolutionize the way we interact with urban and tourist data. With an intuitive and user-friendly interface, it facilitates the visualization and analysis of complex data, making it compatible with a wide range of devices for a hassle-free user experience.

What is SaaS?

Operating under the SaaS (Software as a Service) model, Urban Data Platform offers flexible, on-demand access to our powerful data analysis and visualization tools, without the need for complicated installations or maintenance on the user's part. This model allows users to access the software over the internet, using Open Source resources and benefiting from automatic updates and a pay-per-use model that optimizes financial resources.

Integration and Scalability

Urban Data Platform stands out for its ability to integrate and scale easily, allowing the incorporation of new data sources and functionalities. This flexibility ensures that the platform can adapt to emerging needs, such as future integrations with SEGITTUR services, expanding its utility and applicability in various urban and tourist contexts.

Data Processing

At the heart of Urban Data Platform is data processing through ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) processes, which extract data from various sources, transform it to ensure its quality and consistency, and finally load it onto the platform for analysis. This robust process ensures that the data is accurate, up-to-date, and ready for analysis.

Data Visualization

The platform transcends mere data presentation; through advanced visualization tools, it transforms raw data into understandable and actionable insights. By creating relevant metrics and their interrelationships, users can uncover patterns, trends, and correlations, facilitating data-driven decision-making.

Modular Architecture

Urban Data Platform is based on a modular architecture composed of five main modules, which can be customized according to the specific needs of each project. This structure not only allows for exceptional adaptability but also facilitates the incorporation of additional modules, ensuring that the platform can evolve and expand in accordance with project demands and market needs. In summary, Urban Data Platform is a comprehensive solution that empowers cities and tourist destinations with advanced tools for data analysis, visualization, and management, promoting smarter and more sustainable planning.

6 MODULES

Explore the diverse capabilities of Urban Data Platform through our specialized modules, each designed to offer insights and data-driven solutions for urban and tourist development:

1. Mobility Analysis Module

  • Historical Mobility Analysis: Analyze the mobility within the municipality, distinguishing between internal (intra-municipal) and external (inbound/outbound) trips.
  • Detailed Comparisons: Compare different days based on various criteria such as gender, age, activity at origin and destination, trip length, income level, and internal/external trips, with data broken down hourly.
  • Trend Evolution: Observe daily variations across multiple variables to understand mobility trends.
  • Benchmarking: Compare the mobility data of your city with other cities to identify areas of improvement or success.

2. Tourist Demand Module

  • Overnight Stays Identification: Classify overnight stays in the municipality by distinguishing between tourists and residents, including the duration of stay for tourists.
  • Benchmarking Demand: Compare your city's tourist demand with that of other cities to gauge your competitive standing and identify growth opportunities.

3. Tourist Supply Module

  • Quantifying Tourist Offerings: Detail the city's tourist infrastructure, including the number of hotels, tourist apartments, beds, attractions, etc., and compare these offerings with other cities.
  • Benchmarking Supply: Assess how your city's tourist supply stacks up against competitors, identifying strengths and areas for expansion.

4. Data Module

Comprehensive Data Analysis: Access and analyze socioeconomic, meteorological, and other relevant data sets to gain a comprehensive understanding of urban and tourist dynamics.

5. Predictive Module

Forward-Looking Insights: Utilize data from the aforementioned modules to make predictions about future mobility patterns and tourist demand, providing valuable information for strategic planning and development.

6. Online Reputation Analysis Module

  • Review Platforms Monitoring: Use monitoring tools to track and collect reviews and ratings of the city on the most relevant platforms. This process allows for constant control and tracking of users' perceptions of the destination.

  • Social Media Analysis: Monitor mentions of the city on social media platforms to capture visitors' opinions and comments. This not only helps to understand the direct experience of the users but also allows identifying trends and popular themes related to the destination.

  • Sentiment Studies: Apply sentiment analysis techniques to the collected texts to determine the overall trend of opinions (positive, negative, or neutral). This in-depth analysis better helps to understand the emotions and perceptions of visitors, allowing for adjustments in marketing and communication strategies to improve the reputation and tourist experience.

Urban Data Platform integrates these modules into a cohesive, user-friendly interface, empowering municipalities, tourism boards, and urban planners with the data and tools necessary for smart, sustainable city and tourism planning. Dive into each module to unlock the full potential of your urban and tourist initiatives.
